TWP Communicator

TWP Communicator

TWP Communicator allows user to receive messages from other TWP Communicator as well as from regular TWP devices and respond back by choosing one of the answers attached to the message or one of pre-programmed answers. Wireless Keyboard can be used with TWP Communicator to create a new message and send this message to another unit within covered area or to outside recipient through the Internet. When sends a message, TWP Communicator always checks for the message delivery acknowledgment. If a message cannot be delivered it warnings the user immediately.

This TWP Communicator can be used as a panic button. In the Panic Mode the Communicator sends a pre-programmed alarm message when a Communicator button is pressed. Like any other TWP wireless Panic Button this Communicator supports escalation procedure. It means that if a message cannot be delivered to a recipient or if the recipient did not responded back in proper time this message can be sent again to another address according to escalation list.

Communicator’s display has some graphic capabilities. It can show some pre-programmed icons or animations in case of receiving of some particular messages. It can also “zoom” the text - display the text of the message with bigger characters.

One more useful feature of this Communicator is the Locator Mode. Communicator that got appropriate rights during the subscription process can display the current distance between itself and other unit. It helps, for example, to discover the current location of a panic button in case it was moved after it sent an alarm message. Locator Mode does very good support during the maintenance of a system. Using this mode we can easily find a device that requested a battery replacement.

This Communicator has several special security features. The first one is the message encryption. All the communication between Communicators that belong to some group can be encrypted with a randomly generated key. No person outside of the group including the administrator or a technician that is currently maintaining the system can read the encrypted message. Different groups of Communicators can use different keys. If this key is not registered in the computer database the text of such message cannot be recorded in the message log.

Special protection can be used to prevent an unauthorized access to this Communicator. In addition to the regular password protection a TWP Communicator has a Wireless Key protection capability. Any another TWP Wireless unit can be used as a Wireless Key to protect TWP Communicator. If the distance between a Communicator and its wireless key exceeds the selected level the Communicator turns itself into the locked state. It is a good idea to use a belt clip alarm unit as a wireless key. In this case the alarm unit vibrator will notify the user if he or she left the Communicator on a cafeteria table. And vice versa. The Communicator will warn the user to pick up the Wireless Key by activating an appropriate alert.

Since this Communicator cannot be lost it can be used as a reliable personal ID. This system is more convenient than a regular magnetic card. Door lock releases automatically as soon as a person with authorized Communicator approaches the door. There is no need to swap the card. In the same time it is much more secure because, in contrast to magnetic card, our Communicator cannot be copied.

One more advantage of this Communicator as well as any other TWP Wireless unit is its inherent anti-theft capability. After a Communicator has been subscribed to one system it cannot be used in any other one. There is no way to change the information about subscription. This feature makes the theft of a TWP Wireless Communicator useless.
